Kathy Zavitz
Kathy is our office manager and keeps the rest of us organized.
Scotti Shaner
Scotti is a highly skilled drafter and modeler working in both the 2D and 3D realms using both Solidworks and AutoCAD. She can create well constrained CAD models and produce thorough aviation drawings – which are not the same thing. She is familiar with the engineering change process and its various forms across multiple customers, creating/modifying templates, and troubleshooting issues with existing/client provided models.
Jody Durant, Quality Control Inspector
Jody has a long history of different quality functions in the aerospace field. Originally certified as an NDT inspector and more recently worked with all aspects of quality assurance.
Daniel Henke, Engineer
Dan has a Bachelor of Science from University of California at Davis. Dan has been a team member and structural specialist on a number of projects including float installations, wing loads, repairs, and antenna installations. Dan is also quite adept at making fancy electric guitars.
Benjamin Him, Junior Engineer
Ben has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State. Ben has been a team member and design specialist on a number of projects including float installations, avionics installations, tow hooks, and helped us resurrect an old ShopBot.
Don Sharp, Electrical Engineer
Don has been doing electrical and electronic design for a long time with 10 of those years being in the aviation industry. He is a contractor for Fliegen Works and has been helping us figure out how to get the electrons to go where we want them.
Former Employees:
Johnson Trinh, Engineer
Johnson is an engineer and has his degree in Aerospace Engineering from Embry- Riddle Aeronautical University. He has experience in structural analysis, project management, and production support.
Brian Erksa, Production Planning and Purchasing
Brian gets the parts in the shop moving and keeps purchasing going.
Thomas Crosslin, E.I.T.
Thomas has been working as an engineer in manufacturing and product development for over 15 years. He graduated from Embry Riddle.
Thomas W. Crosslin has an Aeronautical Engineering Degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and also holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Management from Antioch New England Graduate School. Thomas’ skills include more than a decade manufacturing and product design experience in a wide range of industrial processes. He has design experience in thermoforming, blow-molding, RF/HF plastic welding, injection molding, plastics extrusion, metal extrusion, cold forming, CNC machining, heat treating and anodizing, composite molding, rubber & foam molding, sewing, stitching and fabrication. Thomas has nearly 20 years of drafting and CAD experience as well as experience with a wide variety of prototyping methods including; 3D printing, SLA, rapid machining, clay and wood modeling and cast urethane and silicones. Thomas has well-honed project management skills and can deliver new product designs on time and within budget consistently. Thomas was trained in Portland, Oregon, to teach the Natural Step philosophy of sustainable business and is a long-time member of the International Society for Industrial Ecology. He is a strong advocate for environmental sustainability and has led endeavors in environmental product design.
Chad Cornwell
Chad was an intern from Embry-Riddle and says he has learned more about Microsoft Word in the last 4 weeks than he has the rest of the time he has used it. He was in his Junior year and had just finished revising a flight manual supplement for a combi conversion and worked on a bunch of weight and balance excursions for a helicopter project.
